Welcome to PNW Passport: Meet Larie, Your Guide to Adventures in the Pacific Northwest!
Hi there! I'm Larie, and if you're here, you're probably a lot like me—someone who loves to travel, explore, and dive into life headfirst. I’m so excited to share my journey with you, from the very first step to the endless adventures I’m still embarking on. So grab a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine, no judgment here) and let me tell you a little bit about how I ended up where I am today—traveling, documenting, and creating in the place I love the most: the Pacific Northwest.
Where It All Began
I had the privilege of growing up in some pretty spectacular places—Hawaii and Colorado. Between the endless beaches and majestic mountains, it’s no wonder that adventure was ingrained in me from a young age. But, life had a different kind of adventure in store for me early on. I had my two incredible kids young, which meant I didn’t quite get to scratch that itch for exploration the way I wanted to.
Still, I always held onto that desire for more. And as my kids grew, so did my passion for creativity and travel.
Fast Forward to Today: Life in the PNW
Once my kids flew the coop, I knew it was finally time to dive headfirst into the adventure I had been waiting for. So, I packed up my life and hit the road with my husband and two dogs, Disco and Sushi, in our fully renovated 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus, Wanda. It was a fresh start—and let’s be real, figuring out what being a nomad in your 40s is all about is a whole new level of self-discovery. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
The Pacific Northwest has been the perfect backdrop for this new chapter—between the towering mountains, stunning coastlines, endless trails, and quirky towns, there’s no shortage of inspiration.
From Nurturing a Business to Nurturing a Dream
Before the PNW stole my heart, I nurtured another big project—Hudson Valley Happenings (or HVHappenings, as it’s known). Based on the East Coast, HVH started as my creative outlet and quickly blossomed into a full-fledged travel and lifestyle company. I poured my heart into it, growing it from the ground up and watching it take off. But once it grew wings of its own, I knew it was time for me to chase the next adventure.
And that’s when PNW Passport was born.
